I really don’t understand the whole del.icio.us/ thing, but I guess people keep a list of sites they read at that place. I occasionally (rarely) see that someone has arrived here from there. So I just checked to see what the story was. Thing is, this is what I found from two people who link here:

oboeinsight : oboeinsight.com
Oboe blogging by Patti Monson

oboeinsight : oboeinsight.com
patti monson

I’m leaving off the names of the people who have decided to rename me because I’m nice that way but hey, folks, if you read this blog, you might change me back to me!

Altering Patty to Patti isn’t unusual, although it still bugs the heck out of me, but Mitchell to Monson? How can that happen?!

Oh wait … I remember getting mail addressed to Palredio once. Go figure.

In Other News
First opera rehearsal is tonight. This is the one and only orchestra rehearsal we will have. The opera is around 2 1/2 hours long. The rehearsal is 3 hours long with two breaks. You tell me—how do we “rehearse” when we only have time to run the thing?

Yeah. I come up with, “You don’t,” also.

After tonight we have two sitzprobes (two casts means two of everything once the singers are with us), two staged rehearsals and two dress rehearsals. My dream would be to have at least two orchestra rehearsals too. Seems only fair. (For operas that are entirely new to us we are given two rehearsals, thank goodness!)

I’m looking forward to Un Ballo. I still prefer Puccini to Verdi, but there’s an absolutely beautiful English horn moment in this opera and I look forward to hearing Pam play it. My part has very little, but I suppose a no stress opera will be nice.
