I just watched the video of Don Giovanni, directed by Peter Sellars. I’m exhausted!
Tonight I have a 3 1/2 hour rehearsal of the same work. I suspect it’ll be a coffee night. I’m not usually one to drink coffee in the evening, but this rehearsal goes until 11:00 and that’s past my bedtime these days.
I remember “way back when” (“in the day” as kids like to say) … after a symphony concert a lot of musicians would go out or have a party at someone’s house. We’d stay until all hours. It wasn’t difficult at all to perform a concert the following day if one was scheduled.
Life has changed. 🙂
But, for now, I’m off to prepare for the two students I’ll see today. Perhaps they’ll wake me up!
