I taught my first lessons in the new studio today. How wonderful to have a room all our own. My family doesn’t have to try to get through from one end of the house to the other by passing through the space I used in the living room. I don’t have to tell anyone to turn the TV down. And it’s just a really nice space in which to teach.

Nice!

I have a feeling the rocker-glider I’m having reupholstered isn’t going to fit in the room, though. This is a bit of a drag, but nothing that I can’t live with, aside from the fact that I spent way too much on having it fixed up. I guess parents will just have to sit on the piano bench if they really have to stay in the room. (They are welcome to sit in my living room, and they can certainly hear us from there if they are concerned about what I’m saying or how their child is playing.)

In any case, the room is nearly finished (I’m just waiting for a few finishing touches), and I’m extremely pleased with how it all turned out.

Now to get started on the hallway. 🙂
