    The only thing that comes to mind here would be the “paper clip” contrabass clarinet. Massive. Twisting metal pipes.

    No one would mistake a sousaphone for a clarinet, would they? (Although I have noticed that on Ebay listings, if the lister has no idea what instrument they are selling, they will often call it an oboe . . .)
