JamesonAndJenVoigt: This picture explains why Jens Voigt won Stage Three of Amgen Tour of California!

Well DUH … he met Jameson prior to the race.

StocktonParade: This is a picture taken at the beginning of the stage, when the riders took a few loops around the center of the city of Stockton.
Parade2: Maybe Brian Sacawa will recognize some of these riders here …?
SierraRoadClimb: Finally, the big climb. I wasn’t at the top of the hill (2.5 miles further up the darn thing; I hiked as far as I wanted and set myself down, thank you very much; Jameson went the top and saw Levi Leipheimer win the King of the Mountain). In this picture you see the leaders at that point, including Jens Voigt.

So this is how I spent today. It was great fun, and a good break from oboe.

I can say, though, that I will never stay at the Stockton Holiday Inn again. It was noisy … there were tons of noisy high school soccer girls staying here, the trains whistles blew throughout the night and we were near enough the elevator that I could hear it going up and down all night long.

Still, Jameson was able to get a lot of autographs before the race began. We saw bikes galore, and many, many cyclists. And especially, for me, I enjoyed spending the time with Jameson. It was wonderful!

Symphony Silicon Valley has announced next season. Check it out!

Article in the Merc.

No comments from me right now … it’s 2:55 AM and I really do need to try and sleep. So far I’ve not succeeded. That’s hotel sleep for me; Jameson and I are in Stockton, so we can catch the start of stage 3 of the Amgen Tour of California. Stockton. Sigh. Not much to be said about the place.
