This picture explains why Jens Voigt won Stage Three of Amgen Tour of California!
Well DUH … he met Jameson prior to the race. |

This is a picture taken at the beginning of the stage, when the riders took a few loops around the center of the city of Stockton. |

Maybe Brian Sacawa will recognize some of these riders here …? |

Finally, the big climb. I wasn’t at the top of the hill (2.5 miles further up the darn thing; I hiked as far as I wanted and set myself down, thank you very much; Jameson went the top and saw Levi Leipheimer win the King of the Mountain). In this picture you see the leaders at that point, including Jens Voigt. |
So this is how I spent today. It was great fun, and a good break from oboe.
I can say, though, that I will never stay at the Stockton Holiday Inn again. It was noisy … there were tons of noisy high school soccer girls staying here, the trains whistles blew throughout the night and we were near enough the elevator that I could hear it going up and down all night long.
Still, Jameson was able to get a lot of autographs before the race began. We saw bikes galore, and many, many cyclists. And especially, for me, I enjoyed spending the time with Jameson. It was wonderful!
