I think Janet Popesco is one fine oboist and English hornist. If you are anywhere Martinez you could enjoy her playing.

CHRISTMAS WITH THE LOWELLS: Feeling fatigued by the Christmas crunch? Consider spending the evening with the Lowell Trio. Led by S.F. Opera oboist Janet Popesco Archibald, the trio got rave reviews for its appearance at Armando’s in Martinez earlier this year; they return to the intimate club Dec. 20 with a program of holiday-themed chamber music, including excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker,” Handel’s “Messiah” and works by Bach and Vivaldi. 8-11 p.m. at Armando’s, 707 Marina Vista, Martinez. $8, or two for $15. www.martinezvibes.com/armandos.

Found here. (Other concerts are listed as well.)

I’ll be sitting in a “Nut Pit” tonight, so of course it doesn’t work for yours truly.
