This opera wires me. I was SO tired after our three hour gala rehearsal this afternoon, and then after a nice dinner with friends (who happen to be my colleagues as well) we had the three hour performance of Eugene Onegin. AND my stomach wasn’t a happy camper today (I wonder if I ate something that didn’t agree with me … I’m just hoping it’s not the chocolate I was eating!). So it’s been a bit exhausting.

It’s now 12:16 AM and I am not sure I’ll be able to sleep. This is what happens sometimes after a concert. I’m hyper and could probably talk someone’s ear off. And then I get home to a quiet house of sleeping guys. No one here to whine to.

Is that fair?

  1. No, it’s not fair… but it’s life;-)
I’m sitting here right now, in a quiet apartment after a performance of Simson&Delila (not very exciting, ,but it was still a performance….).

I know I probably should go to sleep, since tomorrow will be spent renovating my son’s room, but it just isn’t possible..

Nights like this, I often thing about people with “normal” jobs – who would actually go to sleep 2 hours after a day at work?
Looking at it that way, we are normal – it’s the rest of our families not being solidaric enough….Or?

  2. Hah! I never thought about it that way, Katarina. How TRUE that other people don’t hop into bed right after work. Gee … you are one smart woman! :-)

But as to us being “normal” … hmmm. Not so sure about that! ;-)
