This is so lovely…as is the rest of the opera. I remember now that Die Tote Stadt is one of the operas you will be seeing – I envy you!
It’s one of my absolute favourite operas both to play and to listen to.
I’m sure you will enjoy it tremendously!
I wound up NOT listening to it while working on reeds … I knew I’d be too distracted. So we’ll hear a lot of it for the first time when we are at the opera. I have the recording, but I’ve just never gotten to the whole thing!
