Okay, I lied … this isn’t from the Glyndebourne 2006 production. I just couldn’t start somewhere other than the beginning, even though you aren’t getting the translation with this one. (I won’t be posting every single bit of Cosi, although I’ll put up a lot, but if you want it all you can always go to the Northwestern University links for Act 1 and Act 2.

Ferrando and Guglielmo (two officers) claim that their fiancées (Dorabella and Fiordiligi, respectively) will be eternally faithful. Don Alfonso joins the discussion and lays a wager with the two officers, claiming he can prove in a day’s time that these two women (like all women) are fickle.

(Yes, some people get rather incensed over this plot. Me? It was written in 1790 or so … I really can’t get too uptight about it.)
