Ha! The Marseillaise has our national anthem beat by miles. I remember learning it in high school French. I actually asked the teacher “Am I translating this right? Does it really say that the impure blood will drench our furrows?” And the part about the soldiers slitting the throats of your sons and wives… The Star Spangled Banner is completely tame by comparison.
