This is a long rant by a conductor and at the end he says he’s quitting at the end of the season. At one point in the rant a musician the conductor singles out says he quits. I’m assuming that the musician, Bert Truax, is a trumpet player in the orchestra, but I couldn’t find an orchestra roster at the Richardson Symphony website. Am I missing it, or do they think the musicians aren’t worth listing?

In any case, it’s not a pleasant listen. I found it via Adaptistration.

  1. Thanks for posting this. I guess we are not worth listing.
Bert is our principal trumpet. A wonderful musician and person. He and I have been on numerous comittees together.

  2. I think it’s extremely telling when an orchestra site doesn’t list the musicians.

SO sorry to hear about all that is going on, Ceci.

Hate to jump to the defense of a music director who claims to be the “only one still interested in making music”, but they do list their players at the above address.

  4. Yes, the list is there but you have to do a bit of digging for it. I found it via a link in the contact page.

  5. Thanks Stan. So I guess we are real people after all?!

He really doesn’t get that we ARE interested in making music or we obviously would not have continued to play for all this time.

  6. Hmmm. I wonder why I couldn’t find it. (May I blame my ear? Um. Probably not!) Thanks Stan!
