Heh…I think we double reeders are not surprised that the oboe sounds wonderful (as we would expect) but we ARE impressed with the sax because we wouldn’t expect it to be as good as the oboe (yet they are perfectly matched!).
Yeah, Dave really plays with a refinement that is so wonderful. I have a CD of Dave in a saxophone quartet. It’s great too.
