For our symphony concerts this week we have been moved to the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts. I’ve not been on that stage for a very long time. (We are in the pit for ballet performances.) It will be interesting to compare it to our newish home, the California Theatre.

I had wondered why we were moved. My first thought was that it had something to do with a political event, but it’s so close to the election that had me puzzled. But now the “Ah-hah!” moment has come, having run into this article that includes this:

One of the more interesting things of note about Apple’s invitation to their Oct. 23 special event is where it will take place. Instead of San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Center, or the Cupertino campus, Apple chose to launch the possible “iPad Mini” at San Jose’s California Theatre. This historic location was last used for an Apple event in 2005.

So that’s it! Apple and the new iPad. I’d love to see what’s coming!

(Gee, and I just had to get my brand new iPad swapped out because yours truly clumsily dropped it. Sigh.)

  1. Hmmm…ironic that Apple chooses to present this in a venue that was made possible by David Packard!
