We heard The Choral Project last night, performing with the San Jose Chamber Orchestra. It was a wonderful concert. My friend and colleague, Michael Adduci played a wonderful work for oboe and strings by Michael Touchi, another dear friend. And yet another friend, Barbara Day Turner, conducted portions of the concert (The conducting job was shared with the choral conductor, Daniel Hughes.) In addition there were so many in the orchestra I knew. I rarely get to concerts of friends and colleagues, aside from when I’m performing with them. It’s a joy when I can do this, and I need to get out and do it more!
And … music is a blessing. Truly.
I’ve had some difficulty posting videos recently, as I’m sure readers have noticed. I’m not sure what’s up. Please feel free to contact me when something is awry! (And thanks, Jon Geissel, for letting me know about yesterday’s and today’s issues.)
