One time a loser bumped into me and made me drop my oboe on accident. I cried lol.
So what if the person had been a winner? No tears then …?
And I love the “on accident”. I have at least one child who says that as well. I always say “by accident”. You?
Is that a regionalism? Like standing “on line,” which my New Yorker husband always says, vs standing “in line,” which I grew up out here saying?
I’d cry too if the reed broke!
Do you know about Pentametron? It’s a bot which scans Twitter and retweets anything that fits into iambic pentameter. Fun.
Oh, and we both say “by” accident.
Never heard of Pentametron, Patti. I love it! (Being a person who used to love to write sonnets I guess it WOULD appeal to me, eh?)
I don’t know if it’s regionalism, but my kids grew up right here with us, so I would have thought they’d have learned “by accident” from me. I do things ON purpose and BY accident. Interesting. 🙂
