Newly hired French bassoonist Sophie Dartigalongue makes history! She will play Principal Bassoon on her first Vienna Philharmonic New Year’s Concert, broadcast around the world Fri!

She’s just starting her 3 year trial period, but she will be the 1st female principal wind, brass or perc and probably string player in VPO’s history!
