Larry Hancock, Opera San José’s general director for the past five years, has announced that he will retire at the end of the 2019-20 season.

Hancock, 68, has been the company’s general director since 2014. But he’s been with the company since its inception, when Irene Dalis, Opera San José’s founder and first general director, hired him in 1984.
