I think I’ll want to check this book (The Rest Is Noise: Listening to the Twentieth Century) out when it’s published. Sounds interesting. I figured I’d post this here in case anyone else is interested as well.

I also recently purchased Music: Healing the Rift … I’ve yet to read it, but after reading the review (the link will take you there) I knew I’d want to … so maybe I’ll get to it as soon as I finish my current book.

ABBA In The Symphony Hall?

Minnesota Orchestra’s conductor has arranged ABBA music and it will be included in next year’s season.

I do hope this isn’t on a regular concert program! I can see it being added to a pops concert, and certainly it could be a stand-alone thing. But on what I think of as a “masterworks” concert? Hope not!

Anyway, here’s a short article about it and it sounds like a longer one will be out later. I’ll be looking for it.
