I’ve never made much of the changing of a number—the new year begins in September for me. First I was a student and of course that meant school beginning in September. San Jose Symphony (RIP) always began the new season in September. So does Opera San José. Then I had kids and of course that meant getting them to school. And now that I’ve been teaching again at SCU and UCSC September has been even more strongly reinforced as the start of the new year, as far as I’m concerned.
So mostly I just have to remember to date things 2006 now. It’s a challenge, but I think I’m up for it.
Sorry for using this space. I couldn’t find an email click to you. Just 2 things Patricia—1-On your “personal” listings, my site is the only one, it seems, that doesn’t work. I mentioned it a while ago. And 2–I wish you much success in the New Year. If that can happen, it will be a Happy New Year.

Hmmm. I’ll have to see why my email isn’t easy to find. How odd.
I thought I fixed the link to your site, but what I did was to copy the address I see above when I actually needed the http:// part as well. So sorry! It’s fixed now. 🙂
Happy New Year to you, Marvin!
