Okay, I’ve admitted before that I can fall for some funny stuff. Or maybe I fall for some, to be honest, bad stuff. But when it’s in Italian I’m just a sucker for it! (I found this via vilaine fille.)

OH … and I’m not saying the video is funny or bad. But man, it just turns me to mush! And I do think the language helps.

I suppose it’s not only Italian, though; I have a feeling you could sing in a lot of different languages and it would do the same. I’m a typical white American— I only speak English (although I can tell you to go fast, slow, loud and soft in Italian, of course). And I think other languages are stunningly beautiful. Maybe it’s just that I don’t know what the words are, though. Maybe it’s because, in some ways, it is “lyrics and music without words” or something.

Still, I do think there is something amazingly beautiful about the Italian language. (I guess Dan’s in big trouble if we ever go to Italy. I’d be easily seduced, eh?)

Another tune that does this to me is from a Cirque du Soleil show. And the songs in that show were all from a made up language.

Hmmm. I’m not sure what this says about me.
