SYMPHONY DRIVE: An anonymous Symphony Silicon Valley benefactor has issued a challenge grant to help increase the group’s endowment, which was started last year with a $1 million donation.

Any donations for the endowment received by Jan. 1 will be matched, up to $500,000. So far, about $300,000 has been raised, but there’s room for more. Contact the symphony’s development office at (408) 286-2600 if you’re interested.
