This is from my brother, Timothy Emerson:

The Willow Ensemble has two performances coming up next weekend! The concerts will happen on November 14 and 15 at 8pm in the Chantry at 10th and Broadway in lower Manhattan. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. To reserve tickets at the advanced price, send an email to info [at] willowensemble [dot] org — leave your name, the concert you’d like to attend, and the number of tickets you’d like.

The program will be all-Schubert – a “Schubertiade” Festival, including:

1) Trio in B Flat for flute, clarinet and bassoon
2) Selections from the “Rosamunde” and “Death and the Maiden” string quartets
3) Three lieder (songs) for baritone voice and piano
4) The Octet for winds and strings.

I hope you’ll be able to join us.

Cheers!

Timothy Emerson

I’m gonna have to hire me a music stylist. I’m sure I’m playing the wrong sort of music … my house is somewhat messy; maybe I need messy music?

Even if the music a client likes isn’t insipid, stylists warn, it might be all wrong for a given space. “You’re not going to have Johnny Cash playing in a fantastic retreat in the West Indies,” Mr. Gibson said. “It just wouldn’t work.”

Heaven forbid I play the wrong music for my style of house.

But, then again, maybe my house doesn’t have style …?
