“There’s something addicting about taking auditions,” Pearlman said. “You want to get better. You want to pass more rounds. You want to get to the finals. You want to win the job.”

I most certainly was never addicted to auditions. Fortunately I was blessed to land my orchestra position when I was a young’un and I was happy where I landed so I didn’t do many auditions. Whew!
