Electric Bassoon

(Some of you will know this player and/or his wife!)

I guess I’ll start a “Bassoon Outside” similar to my “Oboe Outside” entries! Heck, why not!?

Yep – in fact, I remember him as a rather quiet and serious junior high school bassoonist at Cazadero Music Camp, where I was a counselor! No hints that he would grow up to do such interesting and amazing stuff, at least none that I picked up on then. Years later I knew his wife on the freelance circuit before I knew that she was married to him. Small world!

Yeah, I’d heard of him when I met her too, dk, and never had put the 2 together!

I think bassoon works better with this sort of thing than oboe, really. How ’bout you?
