I know one album (Etarlis by Mermaid Kiss) with what sounds like cello, but is actually oboe, which is credited.

  1. Hope you like it – it’s me playing! Though there are several passages on Cor anglais which may be the bit that sounds like a cello.

  2. Hi Wendy! That comment wasn’t by me, but was a “Twitter quote fo the day”! I’d LOVE to hear it, if there’s a link somewhere. Being an English horn player I can’t imagine confusing that with cello! 🙂

    Thanks for the comment!

  3. Hi Patty. You can hear it on Spotify. Search “Etarlis”, The start of “Prelude” and end of “Nowhere to hide” have cor solos. Oboe bits on “Shadow Girl” and some of the other tracks. Oh and Cor again on “Crayola Skies”.

  4. I don’t think I can use Spotify here in the USA. I’ll see if I can hear it elsewhere now that I know the titles, though!

  5. Okay … heard a snippet on Amazon of the Prelude … I can’t imagine how anyone would confuse the English horn with a cello! Sounds great, btw!
