Yes. “O.S.” … this means “Old Style”. We get to celebrate Bach’s birthday twice. Once today and once on the “New Style” (N.S.) date of March 31.

I think I’d like to have O.S. and N.S. birthdays too. Okay?

  1. You’ve got it slightly backwards — Bach’s NS birthday is today, and his OS birthday is on Mar 31st. The NS date always comes first. (Witness that most countries celebrate Christmas on Dec 25th, while Russia celebrates it OS on Jan 7th.)

  2. Hmmm. Okay. I’ll take your word for it, although Wikipedia (which I know can be in error) says differently. 🙂

Me too! And Nicky Roosevelt. And my next-door neighbor, who’s not a musician although her husband is (John Pearson, trumpet, SF Opera, and his wife Bonnie). She’s a florist and home staging designer.

See ya tonight, Patty with a y?

huh? Where’d my first comment go? Darn. Anyhow, what it said was “me too!” Birthday, that is.

  6. The first comment had to be approved because it didn’t recognize you, but I’ve fixed it now! 🙂
