Why doesent my oboe sound good?
I have an older selmer oboe and a jones medium hard reed. Last year i started playing it after having several lessons. And i couldnt get out low notes, and i still have trouble, but i dont on other peoples. I always thought it was my reed, because they werent always that great in shape, but i got a new one this week. I also want to take lessons so im going to talk to my band director about that tomarow. But in the mean time what can i do to improve my playing? I practice and i take care of the oboe (which is a school owned instrument by the way) i want a new one but that isnt happening in the near future, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
