I’ve never done a contest or giveaway. Mostly because I am just too lazy. But hey … it’s 2013. I may as well try something new, right?

So Shabby Apple, a creative online store with really sweet women’s clothing along with other things, has offered this contest and I think it’s pretty darn cool. I love their clothes, and I thought maybe my musician friends would as well.

Here are just a few things that caught my eye that are black and handy for concert folk:
Cape Cod Skirt
Hollywood Boulevard Skirt

What do you have to do? You have to “like” Shabby Apple on Facebook and leave me a comment here, telling me which item on the site would make your day (or week, year or month). (Please note that the comment button is right below the title of this post, not below!) You do have to have a USA shipping address.

On January 31 I will put all of the names into a box and the first oboe student who arrives that day for a lesson will get to choose the recipient of a $100 gift card. How cool is that?!

  1. Way cool, but since I don’t do a lot of cross-dressing, I’m gonna have to pass. Thanks anyway…

  2. Ah, but you left a comment, Bob … seems like you actually DO want to win ..?! And you’re the only one so far to post. The odds are in your favor. 😉

  3. Hi Patty! I had never heard of Shabby Apple before. Thank you for sharing. I loved their clothes so it was very hard to pick one favorite. I really liked the Ursa dress in the Zoology section.

  4. Jillian Camwell

I don’t know if I’m eligible to win since I’m not a student! But I LOVE the look of that Maxi Skirt. I may be a soloist sometime in the next year, and that would make a statement! Not bad prices!

  5. You don’t have to be a student, Jillian. You actually don’t have to be “anything”, aside from alive and hoping to win! 🙂

  7. I like the Jabberwocky skirt! It looks like a great concert option. Thanks for continuing the blog!

  8. So … so far it’s Charlotte, Jillian and Heather. Your odds are looking good, unless Bob steals it away! 😉

I see some others, though, that have done the Facebook part of the requirement yet haven’t left a comment here. I do hope my instructions were clear enough!

  9. Ooo! So many pretty things…maybe one or two that I could actually fit into. 🙂 That Hyacinth purse is gorgeous!

  10. I love reading about what each person likes, Sharon. Thanks for commenting, and you’re entered, of course! 🙂

  11. I was already a fan of Shabby Apple AND Ms.Patty! I thought of you while watching the Les Miz 25th DVD the other night, during the solo.

  12. It’s a great solo, isn’t it, Sharon?

I hadn’t heard of Shabby Apple prior to the contact and offer of this contest. So now we have a few more joining in the fun … will there be more, I wonder?

Hi Patty, your posts keep coming up on Facebook! Makes me think that we should get together sometime and catch up. In the meantime, I’m attending the opening of West Edge Opera’s modernized L’incoronazione di Poppea on Friday, and some of the polka dot dresses, including this one: https://www.shabbyapple.com/p-700-jacobs-pillow.aspx are so cute appropriate for the costume concept of the show!

The director had this idea: what if JFK passed over Jackie to marry Marilyn?!? Pretty crazy, but somehow it works – mostly due to the great singers who threw themselves totally into the concept.
