This is a gentle reminder: what we write on our blogs, Facebook, Twitter and other public spaces can come back to haunt us. Honestly. I have a sub list for a group in which I’m the principal oboist. If I read something that makes me question someone’s ability to perform properly, I will most likely think twice about keeping the player on my sublist. And yes, this is a reminder for me as well as for others! Just because we have a president in our future that tweets anything he wants doesn’t mean we musicians should. 🙂

(For instance: writing about going to work drunk or tipsy is a really bad idea. If I see someone write that I sometimes have to rethink my sublist!)
