VOCES8 is singing, so it’s pretty amazing.

Stephen Paulus: Pilgrims’ Hymn

TEXT by Michael Dennis Browne
Even before we call on Your name
To ask You, O God,
When we seek for the words to glorify You,
You hear our prayer;
Unceasing love, O unceasing love,
Surpassing all we know.

Glory to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.

Even with darkness sealing us in,
We breathe Your name,
And through all the days that follow so fast,
We trust in You;
Endless Your grace, O endless Your grace,
Beyond all mortal dream.

Both now and forever,
And unto ages and ages,
Amen.

… and goodnight!

Jugendkonzertchor der Chorakademie Dortmund, Felix Heitmann, Conductor

Stay, for evening is coming,
And the day has inclined;
Stay, Lord, with us on earth,
Until the final lament falls silent.

Who shall dry our tears,
If Your hand does not do it;
Who shall fulfill the heart’s desire,
If not the glow of Your love?

Ah, the earth is so false,
Ah, the heart is so wavering:
From the earth full of trouble,
Lead us heavenward!

Stay, for evening is coming,
And the day leans toward rest;
Stay, Lord, with us here on earth,
In heaven, remain with us!

I know, I know, I don’t post here at all these days. But … well … maybe someone will enjoy this. I know I did. (And it makes me so very tempted to pay for the Live From London series after all — something I said I wasn’t going to do this time. We’ll see.)
